The Badminton Scotland Coach Membership is a database of active Badminton Coaches working in Scotland which offers individuals a variety of benefits.
Our membership system has now gone online and offers coaches the chance to link their coaching with the clubs they coach and play at as well.
To join or renew your Coach Membership for the new season, 1st August 2017-31st July 2018, please visit our Go Membership site and read the following user guide for instructions.
Below are a list of the benefits offered to our Coach Members for the 17/18 Season:
Public Liability Insurance
Public Liability Insurance cover to a maximum of £10 Million is provided within the restrictions of your qualification.
Accidents do happen and this cover gives you financial security in case of a mishap that may lead to litigation. Most external organisations, eg local authorities, sports centres, now require sports coaches to have their own Public Liability insurance at the £10 million level. Individual Public Liability insurance it would cost at least £50.
Coaches are offered discounted Badminton Scotland CPD opportunities throughout the year that will focus on Badminton specific technical skills. In addition coaches will be nominated for Sportscotland Coach Connect programme; free CPD covering a broad range of coaching topics. Please visit the CPD section of our website for more information.
Yonex Discount Package
Coaches are able to buy equipment from the Worlds Number 1 badminton supplier at discounted prices, with exclusive offers only available to Badminton Scotland Coach Register Members.
Coach Licence Card
The coach licence card is an important form of photographic identification, useful when applying for coaching roles in schools, Local Authority Centres and clubs. It enables coaches to prove they have completed the relevant qualifications and that they have taken out the appropriate Public Liability Insurance.

Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check
Coaches are required to become Self-Employed in order to be on the Coach Register. For more information on this see here. Due to this, coaches are also responsible for obtaining their own PVG check. The Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme is a database of people who are approved to work with children and vulnerable adults. If you work with vulnerable groups it is highly recommended you join the PVG scheme. For more information on how to do this please see here.
