2017 Scottish Open Grand Prix

The Scottish Open is an annual event that is part of the Badminton World Federation Grand Prix series. It is the third oldest Championships in world badminton and always features entries from some of the top international badminton stars. Since 2012, it has been held in Glasgow’s Emirates Arena.

The 2017 Scottish Open Grand Prix will be held in the Emirates Arena from 22 – 26 November. You can now buy the tickets online by clicking here or clicking on the image below.

 

 

Playing Schedule

The detailed schedule will not be available until closer to the event. In the meantime, below is a provisional schedule of play.

Wednesday 22 November: 0900-2200hrs: Qualifying rounds of all events; first round of men's singles

Thursday 23 November: 1000-2100hrs: Men's singles round 2, first round matches of all other events

Friday 24 November: 1000-2100hrs: Last 16 and Quarter-Finals all events (Quarter-finals will begin at 17.00hrs)

Saturday 25 November: 1200-1900hrs: All Semi-Finals

Sunday 26 November: 1030-1230hrs: finals 1 & 2. 1300-1700hrs: finals 3, 4 & 5

BADMINTONscotland is pleased to invite players from all Member Associations throughout the world to compete in the Scottish Open Grand Prix, part of the BWF Grand Prix Series, to be held from 22-26 November 2017. 

We acknowledge the continued backing from our partners Glasgow Life, Glasgow City Council and Event Scotland which has ensured the Championships continued Grand Prix status.

The Scottish Open is the third oldest event in badminton world history and will be held in Glasgow’s stunning Emirates Arena.  The Emirates Arena is a state of the art facility purpose built for the 2014 Commonwealth Games where the badminton competition was staged and in addition is the venue for the TOTAL BWF World Badminton Championships 2017.

With a proud tradition of hosting major events, BADMINTONscotland look forward to welcoming you to Scotland.
