Trebles for Campbell and Stalker at West Junior

Alastair Campbell and Brooke Stalker both won title hat-tricks at the recent U13/17 West of Scotland Championships.

At U17 level, Campbell beat Callum Smith in the final of the boys’ singles before teaming up with Josh McKay to win the boys’ doubles with a final win over Calvin Chan and Kenneth Cheung.

He completed his title treble by taking the mixed doubles crown at the expense of Mckay and Maria Leith.

Leith was also runner-up in girls’ singles to Alice Campbell, but triumphed in the girls’ doubles with Erin Waddell, beating Jody Harris and Rachel Wedlock in the final.

At U13 level Stalker beat Katrina Chan in the final of the singles before the pair took to the court together in the girls’ doubles final to beat Ishbel McCallister and Vibha Raman.

Her hat-trick was completed in the mixed doubles with Akshat Gupta when the pair beat Josh Taylor and Katie Stewart in the final.

Meanwhile Daniel Harris beat Nicky Hart in the final of the boys’ singles.

Scott Waddell won the inaugural Colin Atkinson Silver Salver Award, presented to a West of Scotland junior player who shows dedication to their sport, always gives 100% and is respectful towards opponents and officials.

Scott received his award from Colin's wife Moira.
