Coaches are vital to provide opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to engage in badminton. Once a coach has completed their formal qualification, we want to make sure learning and development continues. When coaches are out delivering in local communities, improving people’s enjoyment of badminton as well as their health and well-being, we want to ensure that they are well supported and equipped by providing opportunities to develop and reflect on current coaching practice.
For this year's National Coaching Conference we will have former National Head Coach, Dan Travers, leading a session on Tactical Development for all level of players. Dan's session will cover styles of play, how to counter act and practices to develop tactical awareness and execution.
We are also lucky enough to have Katrina Gibbon, Sport Scientist at Orium, Scotland's Performance Centre, with us for a second year. Katrina's session will complement the tactical development session with a workshop on how to improve and develop speed and agility work to maximise player potential.
The National Coaching Conference will run from 10.00am until 1.00pm on Saturday the 25th November at the Emirates Arena, with Scottish Open Grand Prix tickets, a goody bag and a conference pack included in the ticket price.
