Scottish success in the Under 13 Cheltenham Gold

There was success at the Cheltenham U13 Gold tournament for two young Scotland stars over the weekend.

Brooke Stalker took home a bronze medal in the girls singles gold star event after winning her first two games and suffering a narrow defeat to second seed Grace Sachdeva 19-21 21-18 18-21.

Fellow Scot, Vibha Raman was the winner of the girl’s singles event after progressing from her group and winning both elimination games in straight sets against Srishti Saravana and Delphie-Beau Foster - a commanding performance showing why she was seeded first in this event.

Brooke and Vibha then teamed up to increase their medal tally with a bronze in the girl’s doubles event. The duo won two matches in straight sets, but a narrow loss 16-21 21-17 16-21 against the second-seeded pair meant they had to settle for bronze.

It was a busy day for Brooke Stalker, as having claimed a medal in singles and girl’s doubles she then rounded the treble off with a gold in the mixed doubles event alongside partner Daniel Kemp from England.
