Difficult day for Scotland in Paris

Scotland’s players suffered a difficult day at the Stade Pierre de Coubertin in Paris as the Yonex French Open got under way today.

Alex Hall and Adam Dunn beat Korean pair Kim Jae Hwan and Seo Seung Jae 21-17 21-15 in the opening round of men’s doubles qualifying, but couldn’t overcome experienced Duthmen Jacco Arends and Ruben Jille who went through to the main draw with a 21-17 21-19 win.

Martin Campbell and Patrick MacHugh were beaten by home favourites Bastian Kersaudy and Julien Maio in their men’s doubles qualifying first round and Kieran Merrilees also went out to French opposition, beaten 21-12 21-14 by Lucas Corvee.
