Taggarts Jaguar to get the Scottish Open Badminton Grand Prix motoring

BADMINTONscotland today named Taggarts Jaguar, part of the Lookers family, as the Official Car Supplier to the 2017 Scottish Open Grand Prix.

Having provided such a significant contribution to the success of the World Championships in August, Lookers will once again play a crucial role in transporting some of the world’s best badminton players, this time during the Scottish Open which will be held from 22-26 November 2017 at Glasgow’s Emirates Arena, the same venue which hosted the World Championships.

Lookers’ Taggarts Jaguar franchise will provide a fleet of luxury Jaguar vehicles to transport the players, officials and dignitaries over an eight-day period taking in the build-up and departure days of the event (November 20-27).

BADMINTONscotland Chief Executive Anne Smillie and Scotland’s Commonwealth Games and double European silver medallist Kirsty Gilmour met Jason Blane, Head of Business, Taggarts Jaguar Glasgow, at the new purpose-built Taggarts Jaguar showroom in Hillington to run their eyes over the cars in the Scottish Open fleet.

Ms Smillie said: “We are absolutely delighted that Taggarts Jaguar has agreed to become involved with the Scottish Open Grand Prix. We enjoyed a very successful partnership only a few months ago with parent company, Lookers, during the 2017 World Championships and I’m delighted to be able to work with the Lookers Family again so soon.

“Transportation is a vital aspect of the running of any major event and it’s critical to work with the best in this area to ensure all involved from players to officials to delegates are transported effectively and efficiently throughout the Championships.

The Scottish Open Grand Prix is being staged at the Emirates Arena from 22-26 November 2017 by BADMINTONscotland with support from Glasgow Life, Glasgow City Council and EventScotland, part of VisitScotland’s Events Directorate.
