Our Lady of Lourdes Primary school in Blackburn, West Lothian, received an after school badminton kit bag on Monday in recognition of their on-going contribution to badminton.
The kit bags are being distributed between schools all over Scotland who are situated in Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation areas and have attended the TOTAL BWF Badminton World Championships 2017 or Scottish Open Grand Prix 2017.
These kit bags are a means for the schools, who may not have equipment, to deliver badminton in the school.
Our Lady of Lourdes attended the Badminton World Championships in August last year and were inspired to continue badminton in their school thanks to Mrs McAlpine and other member of staff at the school.
They are situated in a Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation area, which are being focussed on for development as part of the Badminton World Championships 2017 Legacy Plan.
The school children got a chance to try out their new equipment which their teachers will use to deliver an after school club within the school.
This is just one of the many steps BADMINTONscotland are taking to provide opportunities to children who previously would have struggled to access badminton.
