Beginners and badminton fanatics alike will have a day to remember next month as the Sir Craig Reedie Badminton Centre plays host to the Asian Family Fun Tournament.
A day centred around fun, the tournament is aimed at families and demonstrating the inclusivity of the game of badminton.
Running from 9am-3pm on Sunday, April 29, the Asian Family Fun Tournament welcomes families from across Scotland to come down and enjoy badminton in a relaxed environment. Originally the closing date for entries was 16 April, but this has been extended until close of play on Tuesday 17 April.
A day to celebrate the sport of badminton – with a competitive element to make things more interesting – the tournament would not be possible were it not for the input of Yeung’s Chinese Foods Ltd.
With more than 20 years’ experience in supplying products to retail and catering establishments, Yeung’s are proud to be involved with BADMINTONscotland.
And BADMINTONscotland chief executive Anne Smillie is delighted to have Yeung’s on board for the event.
“While at BADMINTONscotland we are striving for success at the elite level of badminton, it is just as important to us to increase participation at grass roots level,” she said.
“Events such as the Asian Family Fun Tournament are a great example of our desire to spread the game of badminton and show to everyone just how fun the sport is.
“And it’s wonderful to have the support of companies such as Yeung’s Chinese Foods Ltd in our quest to do this.
“Without them, a family company with Scottish roots, events like this one would not be possible.”
Entries to the tournament can be made online at Tournament Software or an entry form can be downloaded here and returned to BADMINTONscotland at the address provided.
