Great Season for Nomads

Dundee Nomads are going from strength to strength! Following the successful recruitment drives in the past few years, Nomads now boast three junior clubs, an adult social club and a competitive club. Three nights are needed to accommodate the clubs and membership continues to grow.

To top off a great year, Nomads have completed a clean sweep of the three Dundee Area Badminton Association leagues, winning all three divisions. This has never happened before in Dundee and all the more remarkable that most of the first team from last season has been unavailable this year!

Also a fourth team has been entered into the league set up to afford youngsters the opportunity to gain experience in senior badminton. Indeed, the average age of the 4th team has often been under 16 years! This compared to an average third team player age of around 55 years shows we encourage players across the age spectrum.

The club is justifiably proud of every player’s efforts and now provide a safe, fun environment for everyone from beginner to expert. This season has seen 14 coaches and volunteers completing PVG checking and an extra four new helpers completing Badminton Basics training. To complete a unique season for Nomads we are proud to be the second club in Scotland to complete the Badminton Scotland Bronze Shuttlemark award!

The club are always happy to accept new members and if you are interested in starting your own badminton journey with Dundee Nomads, please contact Steve Cummings on 07525766182 or message us through Facebook – search for Dundee Nomads Badminton Club.
