BADMINTONscotland partners with Young Scot and Find a Player

We are working to support opportunities for young people in Scotland to get involved in our badminton clubs in partnership with Young Scot and Find a Player. Young Scot and Find a player are working together to help get Scots between 18-25 more active and provide more opportunities to get involved in Sport.

  • Find a player is a multi- award winning Glasgow based startup who have built the UK’s biggest sports participation network with over 100,000 events created by their users to date. They help to connect sports people to games and clubs in local areas as well as simplifying all the aspects of game admin. Their app is widely used by football teams but they’re keen to deliver as wide a range of activities as possible. Their founder is also an ex junior Scottish badminton champion so they’re particular keen to assist us. (www.findaplayer.com )

Clubs open to new members in the 18-25 age group are being offered the opportunity to set up their club sessions on the app to young people from all over Scotland.  All that is required is for clubs to opt-in, provide details of your club nights and a point of contact so they can put your events on their app and let the Young Scot card holders find them. There is no cost involved.

We already have 22 affiliated clubs who would like to be part of the programme.  If you would like to promote your club on this forum and would like more information, pleas contact Lyndsay Morrison, Coaching and Development Manager at lyndsay@badmintonscotland.org.uk
