BADMINTONscotland Launch Mentoring Programme

Part of the Pathway Club Programme is about developing and nurturing coaches within the club environment to provide opportunities for learning and self-reflection, not just on the tactical and technical elements of badminton, but on personal development.

As part of the Pathway Club programme, we are now recruiting for Coach Mentors. The mentoring programme will be a key part of the pathway club programme by supporting club coaches on the programme to develop and grow.  The key aims are:

  • To support the development of coaches within the pathway club programme
  • To work through personal development plans with linked coaches
  • To feedback at the end of the programme to enable the programme to be reviewed and monitored.

The mentor roles are offered from September until July (badminton season) and will be subject to regular reviews. Each mentor will be linked to a pathway club coach and will be given free training, a mentor t-shirt and a subsidy towards travel and time.

Mentors will be matched to a pathway club coach within a certain geographical location and will be expected to meet with coaches face to face at least twice during the programme (which runs for 1 season), as well as 4 online/telephone sessions. Additional meetings may be arranged with coaches, but this is the minimum expectation.

Applications are now open for mentors with a closing date of 29th June.  For more information on what the role involves and for how to apply, check out the Coach Mentoring part of our website.
