2 Coaches Heading to Badminton Europe Summer School

Scottish coaches Craig McCandish and Steven Chappell have been successful in their nomination to attend the Badminton Europe Summer School.

Craig and Steven were selected due to their commitment and dedication to club badminton coaching and the positive impact they have on their local communities through coaching.

Both coaches will receive a subsidy from Badminton Scotland to attend.

Craig coaches at Forthside Junior Badminton Club in Stirling and Steven coaches at Aberdeen Badminton Academy.

The Slovenian Badminton Federation will be hosting the BEC Summer school for the fourth time from 7 - 14 July in Podcetrtek Sports Hall.

This BEC event was first presented back in 1982.

With the 37th edition coming up, Badminton Europe are hoping to welcome participants from as many Member Associations as possible to the one-week training camp.

It is a combination of a training camp for talented junior players and a coach education course open to all European nations.

The camp itself will be run by Badminton Europe, in cooperation with carefully selected high profile staff coaches.

Badminton Europe will additionally be organising the BWF Level 1 Coach Education course, running alongside as part of the BEC Summer School.

This course will be based on the BWF Coach Level 1 material.

Candidates who successfully pass the course will become certificated BWF Level 1 Coaches and certified shuttle time tutors.
