Christopher Grimley recorded three wins in a day to make the final of the Hellas Junior International in Greece.
The Scot had a busy day but was never truly troubled as he downed the eighth and 16th seeds, before beating unseeded Ludvig Petre Olsson, of Sweden, to make the final.
Seeded second in Sidirokastro, Grimley recorded two wins on Friday to set up a clash with Ian Spiller in the third round.
And it was a match that lasted just 23 minutes, with Grimley prevailing 21-11 21-12.
That saw the Scot play Switzerland’s Nicolas Mueller in the quarter-finals, with Grimley more troubled by the eighth seed.
But he came through it in 35 minutes, winning 21-19 21-13 to continue his run in Greece.
Sweden’s Olsson was next, and Grimley duly despatched him 21-12 21-14 in 27 minutes to set up an Anglo-Scottish final on Sunday against number one seed Zach Russ.
Elsewhere, in Belgium, the Victor Junior Olve Tournament got underway for under-13s and under-15s.
It was a good day for Brooke Stalker, whose two wins saw her top Group H of the girls U13 singles, beating Leia Glaude 21-6 21-7 before a titanic tussle against France’s Elena Phan, which the Scot eventually won 21-19 14-21 21-18.
And it was a similar story for Katrina Chan in Group J of the same event, the Scot recording three wins from three to top the table.
In the U15 event Keryn Swan finished second in Group H after one win and one loss from her two matches on Saturday.
While Mary Kong finished bottom of Group J with two defeats from two matches.
In the boys singles the Scots both finished second in their respective U15 groups, with Anthony McGuire beating Luca Bellazzi but losing to Mael Cattoen in Group U.
And it was one win and one loss for Grant Lewis in Group N, with a victory over Germany’s Kevin Dang tempered by defeat to Belgium’s Seung Woo Lee.
The day’s remaining matches were in the mixed doubles, where Chan – playing alongside Italy’s Senule Sumana in the U13 event – lost in the first round to French pair Axel Cattalano and Camille Pognanta.
But there was more joy for Stalker – also playing with an Italian, Zyver de Leon – as she progressed to Sunday’s quarter-finals, where they will play Martin Mosquera and Hugoline Canfarotta.
The U15 event proved less successful, though, with Lewis and Kong beaten in the second round, while McGuire and Swan lost a round earlier.
