SSBU Highland Primary qualifier

Friday was the date for the Highland & Islands primary SSBU tournament.

This was re- scheduled from last week due to the severe weather across the Highlands.

Competition was fierce with players from Orkney, Caithness , Ross-shire , Nairn and Inverness vying to make it through to the next round.

Due to change of facility and a limit on time, the draw was changed to knock out including consolation events.

As the day progressed the games became more competitive with many 3 setters in both boys and girls matches.

It was a privilege to watch the quality of badminton on display.

Parents, teachers and coaches should be very proud of the young ladies and young gentlemen that competed so hard and with such excellent court etiquette.

A big thank you to all the people that organised the players , umpired the games and generally made themselves useful.

We wouldn’t be able to run the events without the co-operation of the schools and the band of volunteers that ferry the kids to and from competitions Thank you to Inverness Royal Academy for giving us access to their premises and Mr and Ms Barrie for assisting at the desk Job well done everybody - teamwork !!!
