Heart Scotland and Smooth Scotland sign up for the World Championships

WITH JUST 200 days to go to the TOTAL BWF Badminton World Championships 2017 BADMINTONscotland today extended its number of official tournament partners with the announcement that Heart Scotland and Smooth Scotland will be radio partners for the event.

The radio brands already have strong links with BADMINTONscotland as the Scottish Open Grand Prix is already supported by Heart Scotland and Smooth Scotland.

The involvement of Heart and Smooth with the TOTAL BWF World Championships, starting today and running all the way up to and including the event itself from 21-27 August, will give a further profile boost for Glasgow 2017 not only throughout Scotland but also in England.

Anne Smillie, Chief Executive of BADMINTONscotland, said today: “This is a really exciting time for our sport in Scotland and our partnership with Heart Scotland and Smooth Scotland is another key piece in the World Championships jigsaw. Our preparations are shaping up nicely and the partnership is sure to bring a further dimension to our tournament plans.

“We have already seen what Heart Scotland and Smooth Scotland’s contributions at the Scottish Open Grand Prix can help us to achieve and their involvement can only help in our aims to get 30,000 youngsters playing the sport and to achieve capacity crowds at the Emirates Arena in August.”

Gary Muircroft, Managing Editor of Global in Scotland, said “It’s an absolute pleasure to become the official BADMINTONscotland radio partner for the upcoming TOTAL BWF World Championships. We are proud to support local talent, and look forward to getting behind the team.”
