BADMINTONscotland marked yesterday’s 50 Days to Go to the TOTAL BWF World Championships 2017 by unveiling leading UK car retailer and leasing company Lookers as the Official Car Supplier to the Championships at Glasgow’s Emirates Arena from August 21-27.
Lookers’ Glasgow Audi franchise will provide a fleet of luxury Audi vehicles to transport the world’s best players, leading officials and dignitaries to the Championships over a 16 -day period taking in the build-up and departure days (Aug 14-29).
BADMINTONscotland Chief Executive Anne Smillie and Scotland’s Commonwealth Games and double European silver medallist Kirsty Gilmour met Cameron Wade, Franchise Director at Lookers Audi, at the Emirates Arena yesterday to run their eyes over the cars in the Lookers’ World Championships fleet.
Ms Smillie said: “We are absolutely delighted that Lookers has agreed to partner with the 2017 TOTAL BWF World Championships. As a leading UK car retailer and leasing company, it’s fitting that Lookers should become associated with the world’s leading badminton event. Lookers is no stranger to the sport of badminton and has been a friend to badminton events before – indeed Lookers provided a similar partnership at this year’s Yonex All England Championships.
