Three Scottish teams are getting ready to compete in the 2019 Island Games, being held in Gibraltar from 6-12 July.
Teams from Orkney, Shetland and the Western Isles fly out to Gibraltar on 4 July accompanied by coaches Tom Lambert (Orkney), Gordon Keith (Shetland) and Paul Finnegan (Western Isles).
Badminton has been part of the Island Games since 1987 and is one of the 14 sports included in this, the 28th edition of the Games.
The badminton competition will be staged at the Europa Sports Complex, with the team event played on 7 & 8 July.
Orkney take on Jersey in their first match, Shetland play the Faroe Islands and the Western Isles begin their campaign against Gotland.
The individual events start on 9 July and culminate with all five finals on the last day of the Games.
The next time the Island Games will be played in Scotland is 2023, when Orkney will be the host island.
The last time it was played in Scotland was in 2005 when Shetland hosted the Games.
