Dunfermline Badminton Club Challenge event: Round up

The Dunfermline Badminton Association Club Challenge Event was at Queen Anne HS Community Use on Saturday 5 November.

It was a great success with eight teams battling it out in two divisions of four with the top teams playing the final.

The format is five level doubles, and four mixed doubles matches. This year’s finalists were Inverkeithing and the holders Kinghorn and after a hard-fought match, Inverkeithing emerged triumphant with a 6-3 victory.

Teams from Wing, Dunfermline Carnegie, Kinross and NEFBA Jaguars fought out the minor placings.

The final results were as follows:

• 1^st Inverkeithing
• 2^nd Kinghorn
• 3^rd Carnegie A
• 4^th Wing A
• 5^th NEFBA
• 6^th Kinross
• 7^th Carnegie B
• 8^th Wing B

The event was organised and run by Joanna Flockhart with her usual efficiency. Another long serving DBA member George Stenhouse was the shuttle master, making sure shuttles were changed appropriately thus saving the DBA money.

Clubs are already looking forward to the next Club Challenge Event which takes place on Saturday 18 February 2023.
