Badminton Scotland’s vision is to become the biggest participation sport in Scotland, which will be achieved through the lens of our five values: Respect, Transparent, Inspiring, Inclusive, and Innovative.

Our four Equality, Diversity and Inclusion aims within this strategy are to:

  • Increase diversity of active coaches, with a particular focus on female performance coaches;
  • Ensure diversity across Badminton Scotland Governance structures;
  • Encourage greater participation in Badminton Scotland competitions from a wider demographic;
  • Support the development of new clubs in SIMD areas.

Badminton Scotland aims to provide access and opportunities for all members of the community to participate, and enjoy, badminton activities. The Board of Directors, Groups and Committees, employees, volunteers, and members can be assured of an environment in which their rights, dignity and individual worth are respected, and in particular, that they are able to enjoy badminton in an environment without the threat of intimidation, victimisation, harassment, or abuse.

Our Equality, Diversity and Belonging Policy sets out our commitment and ambitions for badminton in Scotland. We will work with stakeholders, member clubs, and individuals to help realise our ambitions for a truly inclusive environment in our sport.
