2021 RSL Badminton Europe Summer School

The 2021 RSL Badminton Europe Summer School will once again take place in Podcetrtek, Slovenia from 3-10 July 2021. Full information is contained here.

Each home nation is entitled to nominate a maximum of 6 players and 4 coaches for the Summer School, though it is not guaranteed that everyone will be accepted, as there is a limit on the total number of places available. Should we receive more indications of interest, than the 6 /4 maximum, Badminton Scotland would make the final decision on whom to nominate. The closing date for applications is 15 April.

Before reading further, we need to highlight that, at present, foreign travel is not recommended by the Scottish Government; pre-travel testing at Edinburgh Airport would be required (£80 per person); and currently anyone travelling back to the UK from overseas requires to quarantine in an official hotel for 10 days at a cost of approximately £1,750. Naturally, things may change but it’s important to highlight these points at this stage.

Unfortunately, Badminton Scotland is unable to offer financial support from the Summer School, therefore, in addition to any testing cost, the fee for the camp is €450. Flights would be an additional cost.

Badminton Europe has recommended applications from talented players born in 2006/2007; and coaches who are interested in taking the BWF Level 2 coaching course.
