2023: A Year in Highlights
A message from Keith Russell, CEO of Badminton Scotland:
2023 has been a year of medals, membership, and memories! There has been plenty to cheer about, including, player achievements, club success, community activity, new partnerships, the Badminton Scotland Awards, the return of The Scottish Open and much more.
In 2024, we look forward to continuing improvements across our overall offering by building on our relationships and connections with players, clubs, communities, coaches, officials and volunteers.
While many of us enjoy a break ahead the New Year, we want to wish everyone Happy Holidays and share with you some of our favourite moments of 2023!

INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP AND CLUB AFFILIATION INFORMATION
Whether you’re a regular club player, enjoy playing socially with friends or maybe you’re part of a community initiative… Badminton Scotland’s Individual Membership is for everyone.
The Individual Membership covers claims made against you for which you are legally liable resulting from any injury to a third party person or damage to third party property. The cover level we have in place is up to £10,000,000 any one occurrence.
There are also additional benefits such as early bird tickets and discounted tickets, player exclusives (on our monthly newsletter), plus you’ll be supporting the continued development of badminton in Scotland.

WHY YOUR CLUB NEEDS TO AFFILIATE?
Club Affiliation is important as it ensures your club is operating safely and has the correct level of insurance cover.
- You will have £10,000,000 of public liability insurance
- You will have £2,000,000 of abuse insurance cover
- You will have access to safeguarding policies, free PVG checks and specialist advice
Please note: Public sport facilities may decline bookings from clubs who do not have sufficient public liability insurance cover and policies in place. Only club members who are fully registered on JustGo are eligible for public liability cover.
