The Scottish Cup: The best in Scotland
Badminton Scotland is delighted to announce the launch of its premier inter club competition, The Scottish Cup.
The Scottish Cup is the pinnacle of club badminton and will attract teams from all corners of Scotland.
The competition is an exciting prospect for clubs who will have the opportunity to go on cup runs, play competitively against other teams and develop match play skills.
Carolyn Young, President of Badminton Scotland said:
“This is an exciting opportunity for clubs to participate in a National Club competition, play teams out with their own areas and be crowned Scottish Cup Winners. It’s a fantastic addition to the tournament calendar, bringing clubs and players together for good competitive match play. I am looking forward to playing and watching the matches. Best of luck to everyone.”
The initial stages of the competition will be played in group areas with the winning clubs from the groups going through to an exciting national knock out stage. This will be followed by finals with location and venues to be confirmed.
The Scottish Cup is open to all affiliated clubs in all areas and gives players the opportunity to play against clubs they would never normally play against.
Clubs can enter as many teams as they want, with teams consisting of 4 men and between 2 and 4 women, all players must be age 14+.
