Badminton Scotland AGM

On Sunday 4 June 2023 we held our Annual General Meeting at Perth Collage.

Interim Chair Frank Turnbull gave his final report as his term comes to an end. Frank has been on the board for nearly 7 years as Vice President, President and latterly Interim Chair.

Frank has been a key figure within badminton over the last few years particularly as we continue to recover from the Covid break. He has shown his passion and dedication to our sport in many ways, organising competitions and promoting badminton at both junior and adult level. We’d like to say a big thank you to Frank for his hard work and in his own words: “Badminton has a bright future, let’s make sure we capitalise on that opportunity”.

CEO, Keith Russell gave an annual report presentation which included information on finance, funding, engagement, events, marketing and performance. The discussion segment of the AGM was particularly interesting with conversations around how we can improve and build on leagues and competitions for future seasons.

We also spoke about some new resources we have been working on, which will provide schools, coaches and recreation players with materials to help learn badminton skills, techniques and court movements (launch to come soon).

We also shared our Badminton Scotland AGM Magazine which we hope you agree really captures a flavour of all the activity from 2022-23 – we could have made a book with all the amazing community activity that’s happened across the country this year which is really great to see!

SHARE YOUR STORY!

There’s plenty going on in Scottish Badminton and we’re keen to share more club and community stories on our website and social media channels.

Whether your clubs hit a milestone, hosting an event, going on a road trip, or maybe you just want to recognise the hard work of a key volunteer or special individual, we’d love to hear your story… please get in touch to discuss further.
