Badminton Scotland mourns for Bert Munro
It is with great sadness that we note the passing of Bert Munro, who died suddenly following a heart attack on Saturday 27 April aged 77.
In recent years Bert turned to bowls as his main sporting interest, but he was involved with badminton for many years in a variety of roles including as a line-judge, umpire and referee.
He was assistant referee to Malcolm Crofts at the Scottish Open for many years and was also heavily involved in the annual Scottish National Championships.
He was also a key figure in Edinburgh Churches Badminton and was, of course, a past-president of BUAS.
The funeral service will be at Warriston Crematorium, off Ferry Road, Edinburgh, on Thursday 9 May at 11:00am.
