Badminton Scotland Vacancy: Inclusion Officer

It is an exciting time to get involved in Badminton with lots of activity going on.  Our ambition is to be the biggest participation sport in the country, bringing people and communities together through Badminton.  We are on an exciting journey to show that Badminton is a diverse sport for everyone and can be enjoyed at all levels from social and recreational play all the way through to performance.

Badminton Scotland are the national governing body for Badminton in Scotland.  Our role is to increase participation, develop and support clubs plus accelerate the growth of the sport across the country.  We are looking for the right person to join our committed Team to support, develop and deliver inclusion activities. You will work with partner organisations to develop projects, clubs and competitions to ensure that badminton is open and accessible to everyone. Develop and deliver partnership projects focused on increasing participation and clubs across minority ethnic groups and in high SIMD areas.

The Inclusion Officer has a key role to play, working with partners and other organisations across the country to contribute to the overall Badminton Scotland strategy and deliver key activities to support this including:

  • Develop and deliver an Inclusion plan in partnership with community groups and local partners.
  • Support and increase participation from existing diverse / underrepresented groups into badminton.
  • Grow existing and develop new clubs to grow membership.
  • Develop the coaching and volunteering workforce, identifying needs to support participants from underrepresented groups.
  • Develop pathways for the sport from school to clubs in underrepresented communities

Additionally, the Inclusion Officer has a key role to play, working with colleagues and partners to support the promotion and encourage groups and individuals, to engage with the opportunities available on the coach education pathway, competitions and further participation.

Salary range is currently £24,544 to £29,702 dependant on relevant experience, with a generous annual leave entitlement, paid sick leave and access to a contributory pension scheme.
