It is an exciting time to get involved in Badminton with lots of activity going on. Our ambition is to be the biggest participation sport in the country, bringing people and communities together through Badminton. We are on an exciting journey to show that Badminton is a diverse sport for everyone and can be enjoyed at all levels from social and recreational play all the way through to performance.
Badminton Scotland are the national governing body for Badminton in Scotland. Our role is to increase participation, develop and support clubs plus accelerate the growth of the sport across the country. We are looking for the right people to join our committed Team of Regional Development Officers.
The Regional Development Officers have a key role to play, working with partners and other organisations across the area to contribute to the overall Badminton Scotland strategy and deliver key activities to support this including:
- Work with key partners and organisations to develop and promote Badminton.
- Work with clubs to provide support and to grow their membership.
- Develop the coaching and volunteer workforce.
- Organise coach education courses.
- Develop pathways from school to club to performance.
- Support the organisation and delivery of local events.
Additionally, the RDO has a key role to play, working with colleagues and partners to support the promotion and encourage our members, and others, to engage with the opportunities available on the coach education pathway, competitions and further participation.

Salary range is currently £24,544 to £29,702 dependant on relevant experience, with a generous annual leave entitlement, paid sick leave and access to a contributory pension scheme.
