Dundee Area Badminton Round Up: Pre Winter Break

It was a quieter week in the Dundee Area Badminton leagues as teams and players geared up for the winter break.
The T Duncan & Co Mixed league Division 2 continues to serve up some cracking games and this week was no exception as the league leadership changed hands again, with Nomads 3 moving the top of the table with a thrilling 5-4 away win at Monifieth Grove.
It was 2-2 after the level doubles with Monifieth Grove winning both ladies games and Nomads 3 both gents.
The away side then went into a 4-2 lead after winning the opening 2 mixed games, before clinching victory in the penultimate game with a 21-19, 21-9 win by John Lowrence and Chloe Walker.
John was the star performer for Nomads with 3 wins, whilst Ellen Watson will consider herself very unfortunate to be on the losing side after her 3 wins.
In Division 1, old rivals NCR and Roseangle clashed, both looking for their first win of the season and it was Roseangle who took the honours with a 4-2 win.
Rossie had a 2-0 lead after the level doubles, but the Cash pulled it back with a win in the opening mixed, but it was all over by game 7 with a 21-16, 21-19 win by Dan Arslan and Gill Stirton sealing the victory.
