YONEX Dutch Open 2022: An Umpire’s View!

Badminton Scotland was represented at the 2022 Yonex Dutch Open by our very own Jim Gauld.

Jim was one of four umpires with the greatest number of duties for the week and it culminated with him being selected to Umpire the Mixed Doubles final.

This was a great honour as the home pair of Robin Tabeling and Selena Piek had qualified for the final and were successful against the pair from England.

It was a great finish to the tournament for Jim as the match had been saved until the end and went out live on Dutch National TV!
