Johnny Barrie Memorial Evening
Join Lanark YMCA Junior Badminton Club on Friday 26th April 2019 at 6.50pm in Lanark Grammar School for an evening of celebration and reminiscing about a man that coached at the club for over 60 years.
If you learned to play badminton with Johnny Barrie, Lanark YMCA would like you to join us to remember a man who selflessly gave to the sport of badminton as a player, mentor, coach and official.
Come and watch the club’s latest generation of players, then enjoy the opportunity to show your skills on court, or just watch from the side-lines and enjoy reminiscing about your time with Johnny Barrie (minimum playing age is 16).
Gather from 6.50pm-7.00pm in the main entrance to Lanark Grammar School
At 7.00pm we will have an introduction to the club as it works today.
At 7.15pm we will move into the sports hall where some of our current players will demonstrate their skills.
From 7.30pm-8.30pm, you will be able to play short games against current players or your old rivals.
From 8.30pm-8.55pm you can enjoy a light refreshment and chat about the future of the club.
