Congratulations and a huge well done to both Katrina Chan and Ishbel McCallister who came away with Gold medals following a tough 3-set final against Irish pair Michelle Shochan and Paige Woods.
After losing a tight first set 22-20, our Scots showed strength and focus to come back (13-21 and 17-21) and win their final match!
Katrina and Ishbel have been putting the extra work at training through preparation and fitness over the last few months, and it’s fair to say that their hard work is paying off in what looks like a blossoming Women’s Doubles partnership.
Katrina also reached the Mixed Doubles quarter final with partner Lewis Coghill, falling just short over 3 sets against 4th seed pairing Oliver Oldorff (Finland) and Elisaveta Berik (Estonia)- final score 15-21 21-12 10-21.
We’d like to take the opportunity to say well done to all players who competed in the competition over the weekend, Matthew Waring, Lanna Campbell, Katrina Chan, Godfrey Antomarlin, Evan Kenny, Finn Callister, Joe Esson, Lewis Coghill, Pranavi Singh, Ishbel McCallister, Eva Tremble and Vibha Raman!
