Lanarkshire Social Doubles Badminton Tournament 2023/24

The Lanarkshire Badminton Group has just launched the 2023 edition of the Lanarkshire Social Doubles.

Players interested in playing can enter via Tournament Software.  You can also enter using a paper file.

This non ranking event is unique in that it enables doubles teams from the same or mixed genders to play in one event.  We will therefore accept men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles pairings.

The only restriction is all players must be over 16 at the start of 2023.

The tournament will be played on Sunday 29th October 2023 with the online entry system closing at midnight on Tuesday 24th October.

We plan to start playing at 9.15 am and finish around 15.00 in the afternoon.

We will be using the starting order from the last event in 2022 and if you didn’t play we will use your performance in previous Lanarkshire Social doubles events, Bonanzas and other relevant doubles events held in Scotland.  There is also no geographic restriction – this a fully open event.

We have a change of venue for 2023 – we are back in the Alistair McCoist Complex in East Kilbride.  As previously we will play the whole event as a round robin in pools of up to 8 teams depending on the size of the entry.  Each team should get at least 5 matches of one set to 21.  Winners of each pool will play the bottom teams in the pool above to determine promotion/relegation.  Divisional winners will get medals.
