We are delighted to raise funds for the Russell Hogg Trust and bring together badminton friends from Scotland and beyond! Our plan is to provide a few opportunities for the badminton community to re-engage with friends, meet new ones or simply reminisce. Many people may have been away from the scene for many years, so let’s get together and join friends, players, coaches, teachers and volunteers from years gone by.

We also have plans to run a social event in the evening of Friday 27th May and will initially look for notes of interest before taking this forward. It is expected that many from the badminton community may not play golf but would love to meet up for a meal, a few drinks and a social evening with friends. The venue is still to be confirmed although we are looking at venues in Glasgow.

Russell Hogg
Russell was a Scottish Internationalist who hailed from Dunfermline. A multiple National Champion in Doubles and Mixed Doubles as well as a 2002 Commonwealth Games Team Bronze Medallist, Russell was one of a handful of Scottish players that achieved over 100 International Caps.

Russell was one of the very top coaches in Scotland and was involved in coach education prior to working with Scottish Disability Sport. Russell sadly passed away in 2012 and since then the trust has supported many aspiring athletes. As a friend, competitor, coach and role model, Russell has been missed over the years.

Come and join us on 27th May!
