Scotland team announced for Under 17 European Championships

Badminton Scotland today confirmed the team which will travel to Gniezno in Poland from 30 August until 7 September to compete at the U17 European Championships.

Four boys and four girls will represent Scotland, first in the team event until 3 September, followed by the individual events which culminate on Saturday 7 September.

The last U17 European Championships were held in 2017 in Prague, where a strong Scotland team won bronze in the team event before Adam Pringle and Rachel Andrew also won a mixed doubles bronze medal in the individual events.

The youngest member of the team is thirteen-year-old Brooke Stalker who is already punching above her weight against older opponents, having reached two semi-finals at the U15 Glasgow Youth International at the weekend as well as winning two silver medals at the U17 Nationals a few weeks ago.

Jodie Black and Amanda Martin along with Lewis Hart, Isaac Weir and Callum Stokes round out the team which will travel to Poland with Keryn Swan and Nathan MacPherson named as non-travelling reserves.
