The Scottish Student Badminton Community will be returning to RGU Sport in Aberdeen for the 2023 Edition of the Scottish Student Badminton Championships this year.
Another strong year of entries totalling 164 players across the five Championships. We are very excited by the increased number from various institutions as well larger entry in the women singles and doubles compared to previous years. So obviously it’s going to be very busy for us, to play all the matches over two days and we are ready for it!
The quality of the draw has been shown in the seedings this year, with former and current players from the Scotland Team (Junior & Senior) in the mix. The seeding has been the toughest in a long time with so many high-class players to choose from.

The quality and depth of players can be seen this year and I’d struggle to recommend any event to watch over the others – they are all such a high standard.
I believe this event shows the true quality and the community of student badminton in Scotland.
Keep up with the results over Friday and Saturday on Tournament Software.
Action from the 2022 Championships and the organisers manage to find time for a quick photo opportunity.
In 2023, we are planning to live stream two courts from the semi-finals onwards on the Saturday of the event so look out for it on our Social Media @ScotStuSport and @ScotStuBadminton (Instagram), #ScotStuBadminton
Scottish Student Sport would like to say thank you to supporters:
- RGU Sport as host for the second time of the Championships
- Ashaway for their continued support of this fantastic event
Everyone at Badminton Scotland would like to wish all players the best of luck in this year’s championships and we hope organisers, volunteers, supporters and those involved have a great weekend.
