Team Announcement: 4 Nations Graded International

This year’s 4 Nations Graded International will be held at the Sir Craig Reedie Centre in Glasgow on 19 & 20 August 2023.

After the success of the first 2 events in Ireland in 2019 and Wales last year, this year it is Scotland’s turn to host the event and the teams which will represent Scotland have just been confirmed.

The event is not aimed at International standard players – instead it is a chance for more social-minded club standard players to travel and compete against teams of a similar standard from the other home nations.

Selections have been based on results achieved in Scottish Grade B and Grade C ranking events in season 2022/23 and full selection criteria can be found on our website here: https://badmintonscotland.org.uk/4-nations-graded-international/

The format of the team event is matches against Ireland, England and Wales where 5 rubbers will be played against each team: 1 Men’s Singles, 1 Women’s Singles, 1 Men’s Doubles, 1 Women’s Doubles and 1 Mixed Doubles.

The Team match will be played on Saturday 19 August, then on Sunday 20 August an individual mixed doubles event will be held for those who are interested, with pairings drawn out of a hat.

Next year’s event will be held in England and while dates are still to be confirmed, it is likely to be sometime in August 2024. If you’re interested in getting involved in the future then keep an eye out for selection criteria to be part of the Scotland team for that event, which we will aim to publish sometime later this year.
