Vote for Alan Oliver
Badminton Europe has opened up voting to elect a Para-badminton representative to the European Athletes Commission, and Alan Oliver from Scotland is one of the two nominees.
The BEC Athletes’ Commission consists of four members. The nomination of this spot is for a para-badminton player. The role of the BEC Athletes´ Commission is to act as the link between active European badminton players, European para-badminton players and the BEC Board of Directors and Commissions. The successful candidate will be a member in both the BEC Athletes´ Commission and the Para-badminton Commission.
About Alan Oliver
Alan Oliver is from Scotland as was the country’s first gold medallist in Para-badminton, classified as a Standing Lower 3 (SL3) player.
Oliver is a UKCC Level 2 qualified coach in Badminton and is one of the two nominees for the Para-badminton position in the BEC Athletes Commission.
Oliver said: “I am seeking to be elected onto the BEC Athletes Commission to not only convey my personal playing experience within Para-badminton but to also bring my professional knowledge within such a relevant field to enable me to fully relate to athletes and their beliefs.”

Eligible players may only vote once (if more votes are received from one player all votes will be considered void)
E-mail voting will start on Thursday 15th August 2019 and end on Wednesday 21st August 2019 at 23.59 CET
To vote, send e-mail to players@badmintoneurope.com and stipulate the player you wish to vote for (remember to attach passport front page for identification)
Physical voting will be possible on Thursday, 22nd August 2019 from 10:00 to 13:00 at St. Jakobshalle in Basel at the information desk at the entrance during the TOTAL BWF Para-Badminton World Championships 2019
