There are many adult badminton clubs in Scotland just waiting for you to join! To find a badminton club near you, please use our ‘Club Finder’.
Each club will run differently, for social or competitive badminton, so can cater for your specific needs. Some clubs run for social purposes so you can play badminton for fun while meeting new people, while some provide coached opportunities and others are more focused on preparing players for competition.
There are many adult badminton clubs in Scotland for players of all ages and abilities – so it is not mandatory for you to have played before. Our clubs are focused on developing your skills and ensuring that everyone is able to have fun in a friendly environment. Please reach out to your local badminton club to ask any requirements for the standard of play.
Once you have found a badminton club close to you, you can contact the club before going to the session. You might want to ask questions like:
- What ability levels do the club sessions cater for?
- What days & times are club sessions?
- Are their coaching opportunities?
- Can I play in a local badminton league?
- Is there a cost to come along to your sessions?
Badminton Scotland affiliated clubs allow players to learn new skills, develop game play, introduce tactics and much more. You will also increase your physical fitness by attending regular sessions and meet lots of new people in your community. If you wish to do so, there might be the opportunity to enter local leagues and competitions, or social competitions.
If your child has their own racket please take it along with you to the session. Some clubs will have spares, but please ask at the time of enquiry if you need to borrow one.
