4 Nations: Finals Preview

It’s been a busy and competitive few days in Glasgow as the 4 Nations Para Badminton Championships slowly come to a close. Let’s take a look at what we have in store for tomorrow’s all important final games.

In the men’s singles wheelchair categories, number one seeded Choi Jungman of Korea takes on third seeded Muhammad Ikhwan Ramli of Malaysia in MS – WH 1. A similar situation plays out in WH 2 as number one Japanese athlete Daiki Kajiwara faces Hong Kong’s third seeded Chan Ho Yuen.

Meanwhile in the women’s single wheelchair categories, it’s a battle of first vs second as Japan’s Sarina Satomi faces Sujirat Pookkham of Malaysia in WH 1, while Turkey’s Emine Seckin goes against Jung Gyeoul of Korea.

The men’s WH 1 and WH 2 doubles will feature one Korean duo, but not the number one seeds as Japan’s Daiki Kajiwara and Hiroshi Murayama defeated Choi Jungman and Kim Jung Jun to earn their place. They will face the Korean duo of Jeong Jaegun and Yu Sooyoung in their final.

The Swiss duo of Cynthia Mathez and Ilaria Renggli will face the Chinese Taipei duo of Hu Guang-Chiou and Yang I-Chen in the women’s WH 1 and WH 2 doubles.

The men’s singles SL 4 number one Lucas Mazur of France has booked himself a place in the final against India’s number two Suhas Lalinakere Yathiraj while England number one Daniel Bethell looks to face another number two from India, Kumar Nitesh in the SL 3 final.

In the women’s singles SL 4, Norwegian number one Helle Sofie Sagoy is faced by Indonesia’s Leani Ratri Oktila. In SL 3, India’s third seeded Manasi Girishchandra Joshi faces first seeded Syakuroh Qonitah Ikhtiar of Indonesia.

In the SH 6 categories, it’s number one vs number two in both the men’s and women’s singles as Hong Kong’s CHU Man Kai faces Krishna Nagar of India in the men’s while Peruvian Guiliana Poveda Flores faces Nithya Sre Sumathy Sivan of India.

After an upset in women’s SU 5 singles, India’s number two Thulasimathi Murugesan faces her teammate Manisha Ramadass. Meanwhile in the men’s SU 5 singles number one seeded Cheah Liek Hou will go up against Fang Jen-Yu of Chinese Taipei.

Fredy Setiawan and Khalimatus Sadiyah will represent Indonesia in the SL 3 and SU 5 mixed doubles, as they face Hikmat Ramdani and Leani Ratri Oktila of Indonesia.

Finally, in the mixed SH 6 doubles Indonesia’s Subhan Subhan and Rina Marlina will face India’s Sivarajan Solaimalai and Nithya Sre Sumathy Sivan, who defeated first seeded Jack Shephard and Rachel Choong from England.
