Ellen Howat
It is with great sadness that Badminton Scotland note the passing of Ellen Howat.
Ellen was passionate about badminton and for many years served as the convenor of Midlands Badminton Group. She was also an active linejudge, officiating at local, national and international events.
Ellen’s other passion was horse-riding in which she was equally active and her voluntary activity in both sports lead to her being selected as one of the baton bearers for the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
She passed away on Wednesday 17 April surrounded by family.
Ellen’s funeral is on Thursday the 2nd of May, 12 noon at Blairgowrie Parish Church and all are warmly invited. The service will also be live streamed at www.westreamitfunerals.co.uk/howate and this will also be live for a while afterwards for people to watch if they wish.
