Guinness World Record Attempt
The new season is just around the corner and we have a brilliant event coming up to help kick it off – and launch tickets sales for the Scottish Open!
Badminton Scotland is aiming for a place in the record books by attempting to beat the Guinness World Record for most participants in a single rally.
The record – which has stood since 2014 – is 123, but we’re hoping to better that with a group of specially selected players at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow on Sunday August 24.
And not only will it be an exciting and innovative way to raise awareness of the Scottish Open, but it will also be raising money for a terrific cause as we have chosen Down’s Syndrome Scotland as our official charity partner for the record attempt.
There will be more updates as the big day draws closer, but in the meantime please show your appreciation for the (124 or more!) players attempting this record by donating to this incredible charity here.
And don’t forget to buy your tickets for the Scottish Open, being held at Emirates Arena from November 20-23 as soon as they go on sale! And remember, Badminton Scotland members get free spectator entry on the Thursday, then half-priced tickets Friday, Saturday and Sunday – another brilliant Badminton Scotland membership benefit!
