Junior Scottish Cup qualification

The qualification stage of the Junior Scottish Cup took place on Sunday 29 March, with 14 teams battling it out to qualify for the finals.

The finals of the Scottish Cup will be held on 13 & 14 June at the Sir Craig Reedie Centre in Glasgow with eight teams competing for the title.

In the East of Scotland qualifying event, Edinburgh Badminton Academy claimed three of the five available qualification places, with EBA 1, 2 and 3 all progressing to the Scottish Cup finals. The remaining two spots were filled by Aiyu Badminton Club 1 and 2.

The West of Scotland qualification event featured four teams – Ayrshire Badminton Club, BASE, Glasgow Badminton Academy and Scotstoun Badminton Club. GBA and Scotstoun finished first and second in the group to qualify for the finals of the Scottish Cup.

The final place in the finals is filled by ABA Oilers, who qualified as the only entry from the North of Scotland.

In a new innovation for this season, the teams which finished lower in the qualification stages still get a chance to progress. EBA 4, 5, 6 and 7 will face BASE and ABC in the Tartan Cup, which will be played the weekend before the Scottish Cup, on 6 & 7 June, again at the Sir Craig Reedie Centre in Glasgow.
