6th May 2026 by Robert McLean
Angus Meldrum and Finlay Jack have travelled to Bratislava this week for the KAWASAKI Slovak Open, aiming to battle their way through qualification at the Future Series event.
Both players face a demanding route to the main draw. Meldrum will need to win four matches to progress, while Jack must come through three rounds. Despite the challenge, confidence in the camp remains high heading into the opening stages.
Meldrum has already made an emphatic start to his campaign. The Scot produced a dominant performance to defeat Szymon Gwiazda of Poland 21-4, 21-10, showcasing sharp form and control in his opening qualifying match. He returns to court shortly, where he will face Dmytro Scherbatiuk of Ukraine for a place in the qualifying round of 32.
Jack is set to begin his campaign later in the day, scheduled as the fifth match on Court 2. He takes on Michael Tomic of Austria in the qualifying round of 64. It promises to be a stern test against the world number 654, but Jack will be eager to make a strong start in Bratislava.
Unfortunately, there is no live streaming available for the event, but updates and a full roundup will be provided via official channels at the conclusion of the tournament.
With both players determined to progress and early momentum already building, the week in Bratislava offers a valuable opportunity to make their mark on the international stage.
