RSL Latvia International – Preview

2nd June 2026 by Robert McLean

Scotland will have two representatives in action this week at the RSL Latvia International in Riga, with players from across Europe and beyond gathering in the Latvian capital for the Future Series tournament.

The first Scot to take to the court will be Finlay Jack, who begins his men’s singles campaign on Wednesday morning in the qualifying round of 128. Jack is scheduled for the second match on Court 1, where he will face Israel’s Mogilner. While Jack will enter the contest as the favourite, opening-round qualifying matches can often prove challenging, and he will need to be at his best to progress.

Also in men’s singles qualifying is Xiaozhu Jiang, who faces a difficult opening assignment. Jiang has been drawn against Poland’s Golas, the number one seed in the qualifying draw, in the round of 128. The match is scheduled as the fourth match on Court 4 and represents one of the toughest possible starts to the tournament for the Scot.

Jiang will also compete in the mixed doubles event later in the week. Teaming up with English partner Ann Mok, the pair are scheduled to begin their campaign in the qualifying rounds on Thursday as they look to secure a place in the main draw.

The RSL Latvia International continues throughout the week in Riga, with valuable ranking points and international experience on offer for competitors from across the continent and further afield.
