Scotland Showcases Strong Spirit at 4 Nations Graded International 2026
The 4 Nations Graded International took place in Cardiff, Wales on the 8th August, with Scotland once again joining the other Home Nations in a competition that was held for the first time in 2019. While Scotland missed out on the overall title, it was still a highly successful weekend for the team, with the 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams all claiming second place and the 4th team securing a well-deserved victory in Tier 4.
The 4 Nations Graded International provides opportunities for club-level players to compete on behalf of their country against other similar-level teams from the four nations – England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
Scottish players for the 2026 event were selected from Scottish Silver and Bronze events during the 2025/26 season, with Teams 1 and 2 made up from results of Silver events, and Teams 3 and 4 made up from results of Bronze events.

The team showed tremendous grit and togetherness at this year’s 4 Nations Graded International. Finishing as runners-up after narrowly missing out to England who retain the cup, the team can be incredibly proud of the performances they produced throughout the competition. With several closely fought matches going right down to the wire, every player contributed to a hard-earned second-place finish and demonstrated the fighting spirit that Scotland is known for.

“The Scotland team played amazingly and showed great teamwork throughout. It was a fantastic experience to be part of such a fun, supportive, and positive atmosphere hosted by Badminton Wales. Everyone gave their best effort, and the team spirit on display made the day even more enjoyable”
While Scotland may have just fallen short of the top spot, their teamwork and commitment were evident from start to finish, making it a hugely deserved result and a performance they can all take great pride in.
