Scotland’s Top Juniors Ready to Shine at All-England Junior Championships
29th July 2025 by Robert McLean
Scotland’s brightest young badminton stars are set to take centre stage this week as they travel to Birmingham for the prestigious All-England Junior Championships—one of the standout events on the international junior calendar.
As part of the Badminton Europe Junior International Series, the tournament attracts elite talent from across Europe and further afield, providing a world-class platform for emerging players to showcase their skills. This year, Scotland boasts the second-largest player entry, behind only hosts England—highlighting the growing strength and ambition of the Scottish junior programme.
Taking to court for Scotland will be:
Thomas Fragell, Arnav Saraswat, Malik Clowes, Alfie Martin, Lewis Smith, Luke Parkinson, Callum McWhirter, Pranavi Singh, Chloe Mackenzie, Anshita Jaiswal, Qing Yang Xiao, and Deepti Vijayakumar.
Originally a 13-strong squad, the team will unfortunately be without Blair Tait, who has had to withdraw through injury. We extend our best wishes to Blair for a full and speedy recovery ahead of his next event, the VICTOR U19 Irish Open.
The Scottish contingent will be accompanied this week by Coach Martin Fragell, who will provide support and guidance throughout the event as the players look to make their mark on the international stage.
The first matches get underway this Thursday, and with a packed draw featuring some of Europe’s most exciting junior prospects, the tournament promises fast-paced, high-quality action across all disciplines.
Fans won’t miss a moment of the excitement, as matches will be streamed live on Badminton Europe TV. This gives supporters back home a fantastic opportunity to cheer on the team and witness Scotland’s young talent take on international competition on one of the sport’s biggest junior stages.
We wish the entire Scottish squad the very best as they compete with pride, passion and determination.
