Scottish International Masters Championships is selected for inaugural Badminton Europe Senior Circuit

After the grand success of the largest Scottish International Masters Championship ever in January, Badminton Scotland is pleased to announce that the tournament has officially been added to the inaugural Badminton Europe Senior Circuit.

The BEC Senior Circuit is being established to strengthen Senior badminton across the continent ensuring a more consistent level of quality.

The Scottish International Masters Championship has ran for 25 years and has been incredibly popular with a wide variety of players from Denmark, England, France, German, Netherlands and Sweden as well as our own top tier Scottish Masters Athletes.

The 2025 tournament hosted 307 players from 14 countries and saw an incredible level of  players across 45 events.

Head of Events Craig Robertson has massively contributed to the growth of the Scottish Masters and is excited for what this means for the development of Masters Badminton in Scotland and in Europe:

“The honour of our Scottish International Masters being part of the new Badminton Europe Circuit is really exciting. The inclusion is down to hard work over many years from Peter Dean, Dan Travers, Morag McCulloch and the countless volunteers that have built this event to become one of the best events in Europe. We look forward to welcoming players from around the world in 2026 as well as the return of the International match against Ireland to kick off a great weekend.”

The Scottish International Masters Championships will now benefit from a myriad of benefits after being selected for the Senior Circuit. Increased exposure on Badminton Europe social media platforms and website as well as invitations being shared across all BE Members and increasing visibility for other Badminton Scotland tournaments.
