Scottish Shuttlers Set to Compete at Yonex Bonn International

Two of Scotland’s top badminton talents are in action this week at the Yonex Bonn International Future Series, taking place at the Erwin Kranz Halle in Germany.
Representing the Senior National Squad, Angus Meldrum and Rachel Sugden will take to the courts as they aim to make a strong impression on the international stage.
Angus Meldrum, currently ranked Scottish Number 3, kicks off his campaign today. He faces Filip Boehn of Norway, world-ranked 1442, in the Qualification Round of 64. Their match is scheduled for Court 1 as Angus looks to battle his way into the Main Draw.
Rachel Sugden, the Scottish Number 2, will begin her tournament tomorrow. Slated as the 9th match on Court 2, Rachel faces Jenjira Stadelmann of Switzerland, who is ranked World Number 326, in a Round of 32 encounter.
Also in action is promising Scottish talent Sen Thomas, competing outside the Senior National Squad. Sen is scheduled for the 6th match on Court 1 today, where he meets Joonas Korhonen of Finland, the world number 324, in another Qualification Round of 64 match.
