Sofia Mazzoni Reflects on Her First UK Para Badminton Championships

Sofia Mazzoni is part of the Scotland Para Squad and Aberdeen University Badminton Club. Sofia only started competing this year, but she has already made her mark at the regional competitions in Scotland, and travelled down to Sheffield to attend her first UK Para Badminton Championships.

“This was my first UK National Championship so I was a bit nervous going in. But once I got there, everyone was so friendly and supportive.

I played some great, close matches, and Colin Leslie and I finished in 3rd place in the mixed doubles. I also competed in the ladies doubles, and ladies singles.

This was a great experience, watching and competing against some of the more experienced para players has really inspired me to train harder and prepare for the next tournament.”
