Under 15 and Under 19 National Results
The Scottish Under 15s and Under 19s Junior Championships were another great success marking a bright future of Scottish Badminton from around the country.

U15 Nationals
Jaagruti Mannem was the standout in the Under 15s for her treble win where she didn’t drop a set in any of her finals. Her singles win built her U13 singles titles from the previous year with her competitor in the final was none other than her doubles partner Shreya Varghesse. After facing each other on court in the singles final Varghesse and Mannem joined forces to take the U15 Girls doubles title over Emma Joshua and Emma Kirkpatrick 21-11, 21-5. Mannem then finished off the day with the mixed doubles title alongside Charlie Junnor where they beat Melrick Dsouza and Emily Jobson 21-17, 21-14.
The mixed doubles title wasn’t the only title Junnor won that day as he took the boys singles title over Calum Tsang 21-16, 22-20 marking his first Junior National title. Tsang then went on to claim his first National title in the boys doubles alongside partner Nathan Luo where they beat Melrick Dsouza and Dylan Jia 21-18, 21-13.
U19 Nationals
The Under 19s National Championships finals and winners were dominated by wins from the European Junior team who competed at the U19 European Junior Championship in Ibiza the previous week. Matthew Waring high off the back of his European Bronze took the boys singles and his second U19 Junior Singles National title, beating teammate Lewis Smith 21-9, 21-12. Waring then went on to win the boys doubles alongside Lewis Coghill, who hadn’t played together since 2022 to beat Lewis Smith and Alfie Martin 25-23, 21-12.
Coghill went on to take the mixed doubles victory alongside Brooke Stalker to take their first Mixed Doubles National Title together. The beat Katrina Chan and Alfie Martin 21-19, 21-12 to take their victory.
This may have been Stalker’s first Mixed Doubles National title but in the Girls Doubles herself and Ishbel McCallister took their second U19 Girls Doubles National Champions.The beat Deepti Vijayakumar and Qing Yang Xiao 21-11, 21-16 to retain their title.
